Today marks our first day of filming with the HGTV House Hunters: Home Renovation Edition (TM) crew!
After completing the design and receiving a permit, we began to test for lead contaminants in this White Plains home. When inspecting homes built before 1978 (when a national ban was placed on lead containing household paints), these tests are vital. This structure was built in the 1920’s, a time at which the use of lead paints was very prevalent. The EPA Certified M&M Constructions team thus thoroughly analyzed the test results, confirming a presence of lead. We took every step necessary to remove all of the impurities and toxins, ultimately certifying the kitchen as lead-free.
We then began the next step in the renovation process: demolition of the old, dated kitchen. We removed old hardware, appliances, walls, floors and other fixtures to make way for the beautiful kitchen that our team envisions. Check back soon for more updates regarding the construction process for this HGTV (TM) featured home and on other renovations by M&M Constructions!
